GETTING OUR FEET WET > ESPORTS
Opportunities versus Professionalism

As someone deeply committed to fostering growth and empowerment, I am resolute in my convictions regarding the immense potential of esports in Africa.

The Dilemma of Global Esports Events
When global esports events arise, there’s often a debate: Should Africa participate, especially when servers and other infrastructures are not readily available to compete against well-established countries for particular games that are not intrinsic to African gamers?

Even with our resilient hearts and skillfulness, we are most of the time an afterthought and considered not a priority… Africa faces unique challenges. The absence of native professional players on the continent can put us at a disadvantage when competing on the world stage. But this is where our journey begins.

Professionalism is a pinnacle—a level of excellence that requires dedication and effort. But every professional starts somewhere. From amateur to grassroots to Pro Teams. As we seek to build stronger esports institutions across the continent, stakeholders must value the nuances and ingenuity that African players go through just to play locally and globally with all that is against them.

I draw inspiration from humble beginnings that have blossomed into world-class experiences. And the same transformation is possible for esports in Africa. As we build a professional ecosystem, let’s never underestimate the power of small beginnings.

The power of Exposure of our community to the international stage in all aspects of the ecosystem has the power to transform our space to the benefit of all. If Africa is logistical in a better position to play in global esports events, it is a great step toward building brand recognition, loyalty, and future purchasing power of the youth of Africa.
We may be the last partakers of Technological advancement but surely this situation will change one day. The fourth industry revolution echoes through the heart of the African child and I trust we will never be left behind. By opening gates of opportunity, we empower our youth with global exposure and the determination to go the extra mile.

The other day, it was MBO from the Fadama making it to Turkey and MedicineMustShin Abubakar Abdul-Ganew from Madina, also making it to Riyadh and Romain… and many more getting the esports exposure to become global citizens. Come to talk of the Valorant Ladies Monica Mensah Doreen Dabi-Diamond cutting a niche for themselves within the industry can definitely …most definitely be an inspiration to Girls in Gaming… all are footprints we can look back to and storytell our progress.

May be given the chance to play 1 More Game or 1 LAST GAME! we can show our worthiness.

One step at a time,
One success.
